New Limousine Licensing Law

Legislation changes regarding the licensing of  stretch limousines came into January 2008.

All limousines previously exempt under the section 75 will now be required to obtain a license as the section 75 Act has now been removed.

A memo from the local borough council has pointed out the seriousness of the issue by stating that any vehicle of this type operating without a licence from January 2008 will clearly be operating unlawfully and therefore will have insurance implications.

Police crack down on illegal limo Hire in Wigan!

During last years school proms school leavers like the ones from St John Fischer school in Springfield found themselves in the middle of a police operation to weed out illegal limousine operators. The limousine were held up by police while they were inspected by V.O.S.A. officials. In total eight vehicles were inspected at St John Fischer High School, The Jewels limousine was Inspected  and passed fit but of the other seven vehicles unfortunately only two were passed. Three Limo's were taken off the road as they were found to be unsafe, while two other limousines were found to have had  no insurance or driving hours issues.
